Diamond Sun · Effective 13 September 2026
Your quiet corner.
Tiny Fishing Hole keeps fishing progress on your device. The Android edition uses Google services for occasional advertising, privacy choices, the optional Remove Ads purchase and optional Google Play Games sign-in. Play Games sign-in is included from version 1.1.0-rc3. Optional cloud saves are added in version 1.1.0-rc4; earlier test builds do not have cloud saves.
Who we are
Tiny Fishing Hole is published by Diamond Sun / SmoothSteve. Contact diamondsunadmin@gmail.com for support or privacy questions. We do not operate our own game accounts or gameplay analytics backend. Optional cloud saves use Google's Play Games Saved Games service.
Information kept on your device
- Fish discoveries, catch totals, size records, Coins, XP, equipment, cosmetics, waters and saved catch results.
- Daily bonus counts, local reset-day markers, advertising frequency limits and sound settings.
- A broad age band: unknown, under 13, 13–17 or 18 and over. We do not request or store a date of birth.
- Google consent choices managed by its User Messaging Platform (UMP).
- A signed Google Play purchase receipt, separate from fishing progress, to verify Remove Ads offline.
Fishing saves are not uploaded to a Diamond Sun server. If you enable cloud saves, your progress is sent to Google as described below. Clearing app data or uninstalling deletes local progress and local recovery copies. The game does not use Android app-data backup. A Play purchase can be restored separately on the same Play account.
Advertising and information Google processes
The Android edition includes Google Mobile Ads and UMP. Eligible players may receive an interstitial after acknowledging a saved repeat catch. Ads require both five active minutes and ten catches between displays, with at most three per local day. Discoveries, records and collection celebrations are excluded.
Google’s Mobile Ads SDK can collect and share these categories for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention:
- Approximate location inferred from an IP address.
- App activity and interactions, including ad views and taps.
- App information and performance diagnostics, including crashes and hangs.
- Device or other identifiers, including app-set identifiers and advertising ID where permitted.
Google states that SDK data is encrypted in transit. See Google’s Mobile Ads data disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy for its processing, retention and protections. The game does not request precise GPS location, contacts, photos or microphone access.
Age and UMP consent gates apply before ad requests. For eligible age groups, the game passes age-treatment flags to Google to apply teen and under-age-of-consent restrictions. It does not send a date of birth. Where required, privacy choices are under Rod → Help & privacy → Ads & purchases → Privacy options. Fishing works when advertising, consent services or connectivity are unavailable. Remove Ads owners receive no interstitials or further ad requests.
Age groups
The game is intended for teens and adults aged 13+. Unknown and under-13 sessions remain ad-free, with purchasing unavailable. Teen sessions use age-restricted treatment, an under-age-of-consent setting and conservative general-audience ad content. We store only the selected age band locally and do not ask children for contact information or purchases.
Google Play purchases
Remove Ads is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. Play processes payments, maintains purchase history and provides purchase status and signed receipts to the game. We do not receive card or bank details through the app. Google’s payment services operate under their own privacy terms.
The game verifies and acknowledges completed purchases. Pending, cancelled or failed payments do not grant ownership. Verified ownership stays available offline; successful Play refreshes reconcile refunds or revocations. Reinstalling requires Restore Purchases using the same Play account. This does not restore fishing progress.
Verification occurs in the app without our own server. Offline receipt caching cannot detect a refund until Play successfully refreshes ownership. We do not operate our own account system or remote player profile.
Optional Google Play Games sign-in
The Google Play edition includes Play Games Services for players aged 13 or over. Existing Play Games profiles can authenticate automatically after the eligible age group is selected. New profile creation is not prompted automatically; you can choose Rod → Help & privacy → Google Play Games → Sign in to Play Games. Fishing and rewards are available without signing in or connecting to the internet.
Google processes your gamer identity (such as a gamer name and avatar), service analytics and diagnostics to provide Play Games and improve its stability and products. Sign-in checks whether authentication succeeded. If you enable cloud saves, the game also reads your Play Games player ID and keeps a one-way fingerprint of it on the device to prevent progress from crossing between profiles. The raw player ID is not logged or stored by the game. The game does not request your name, avatar, friends list or account tokens. There are no leaderboards or achievements in this version.
The SDK is not initialized at launch for unknown or under-13 age groups, and the game does not request sign-in for those groups. Restart the game after changing the age group so the startup restriction takes effect for the new session. Google manages the Play Games account and its permissions; account preferences can also be changed in Google Play Games settings.
Google states that Play Games data is encrypted in transit. You can delete Play Games data for this game or your Play Games profile through Google Play Games settings or your Google Account. This is separate from deleting fishing progress on this device. See Google's Play Games SDK data disclosure, Google's game-data deletion instructions and Google's Privacy Policy for its processing and controls.
Optional cloud saves
From version 1.1.0-rc4, players aged 13 or over in the Google Play edition can enable cloud saves under Rod → Help & privacy → Google Play Games → Cloud saves. Cloud saves start off. After you enable them, the game checks and synchronizes progress while it is open, signed in and connected. Offline fishing remains available.
The backup contains fish discoveries, catch totals, size records, Coins, XP, equipment, cosmetics, unlocked waters, saved catch results, daily bonus counts and reset-day markers, and the sound preference. Google stores it privately for the same Play Games profile using Saved Games and its app-specific Drive storage. Other apps cannot use this game's private save. The game excludes your age band, advertising frequency history, consent choices and purchase receipt from the backup. Remove Ads is restored separately through Google Play.
The device retains your opt-in choice, a fingerprint of the Play Games player ID and a checksum of the last verified progress to keep accounts separate and detect different saves. If copies disagree, the game asks which to keep rather than combining Coins or rewards. Before an explicit replacement, it retains local recovery copies of the available progress. Those copies stay on the device until its app data is cleared. Diagnostic logs contain sync status and service error codes, not player IDs or save contents.
Turning cloud saves off stops future sync; it does not erase an existing cloud copy. To delete the cloud copy, turn sync off on your devices, then follow Google's instructions to delete this game's Play Games data. Deleting local app data alone does not delete the cloud copy. Google manages storage and retention under its own privacy policies; we do not operate an independent copy of your cloud save. If you later re-enable syncing and choose to upload device progress, that can create a new cloud copy.
Use the same Play Games profile on another Android device to restore. Confirm the cloud copy has been checked before uninstalling or changing devices: offline or interrupted changes may still exist only on your device. See Google's Saved Games documentation for its storage and synchronization service.
Support, retention and choices
If you email us, we receive your address and the information you include. We use it to answer the request and keep it only as needed for support and legitimate recordkeeping. Do not send passwords, full payment details or a date of birth. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of correspondence, subject to records we must retain.
You can delete local game information through Android’s app storage settings or by uninstalling, which permanently removes fishing progress. Manage Google-held advertising, account and payment information through Google’s privacy controls. Deleting local game data does not itself delete Google’s records.
